Day 11 Tue 27 May Banff

A quiet day in Banff

We didn't have breakfast till 8.30 this morning. Then we hopped on the bus from the hotel to downtown ($1for seniors). I bought a blouse at the Hudson Bay Trading Company and Greg checked out the railway station (what a surprise). Had Subway for lunch then reported for our River Float. Five of us on large rubber raft with a guide and a trainee. We weren't expected to paddle, just sit and relax, which we did. The guide spent most of the time instructing the trainee who was rowing us, on how to navigate the river. It was interesting hearing his instructions. It was hard work for the trainee and there were only 5 passengers. A full load would be 18. the weather was perfect so it was a pleasant outing but will not be one of the great memories.

Greg has gone out to dinner with Anne & Bob but I have opted for take-away in the room.

A & B went on a Banff Experience at 8.20 this morning. I believe they saw quite a lot of wildlife including bear. Not sure if they were black bears or grizzly bears.
