Day 10 Mon 26 May Lake Louise to Banff

The clouds were low over the mtns and it looked like rain as we headed for Banff but as Nancy says, wait 5 minutes and the weather in the mtns changes. The first priority in Banff was washing. We parked behind the  Royal Hotel and Nancy led us all (41) down the main street carrying our bags of washing. It was about 4 blocks to the laundry where for $15 they would wash and fold a bag of clothes ready for pick-up that afternoon.

By the time we  reached the gondola at Banff the sky was blue and clear. Greg preferred to stay on the ground so I took the gondola with A & B for the fast 8 minute trip to the top of Sulphur Mt.360 degree views of six Rocky Mt Ranges - spectcular. We then walked slowly across the boardwalk and up the steps to Adjoinig Sansoms Peak. Slowly because it is 2337 m above sea level. well worth the walk- more pics of snow covered mts!

Checked into Fairmont Bamff Springs, another stunning hotel. This time in the style of a Scottish Castle with olde world lounges, ballrooms, wall hangings etc. There is  a lady in period cosume playing a harp in the foyer.

View from our bedroom window we can see and hear the Bow River Falls (left) as well as snow capped peeks

Another view from the hotel window
