Day 14 Fri 30 May Vancouver

Bike riding and suspension bridge
We headed off for an early morning walk. It was fresh out without being cold and the Vancouver has a nice feel to it.

After breakfast I headed off to Capilano Suspension  Bridge Park with A & B. We started with the 15 min historial tour which included mention of the current owners by the name of Stibbard - no relation to A.

It was then time to face the suspension bridge, fine with B and me but a test for A, which she passed with flying colours. We then did the 15 min Nature talk which included chewing leaves and licking a slug. Leaves i can cope with but I drew the line at licking the slug but a lady from Melbourne was brave enough to try it - supposed to make your mouth go numb!

We also did the tree-top walk, natures edge board walk, and finally the cliff edge walk another test for Anne. Bought a t- shirt at the gift shop then back to town for a quick lunch.
I picked up my boots that Greg had dropped off in the morning, from the shoe repair shop. Not a good time for the heel to come off my boot.

Anne and I hopped on a bus to Granville Island markets, leaving Bob to use the gym at the hotel. Greg spent the morning taking my shoes to the bootmaker, getting his beard shped and trimmed and preparing for his bike ride to Stanley Park.

Granville Island was an interesting spot with fruit, veg, meat etc but also lots of artisans and craftspeople. Some beautiful clothes and jewelery but quite expensive. Even on Friday it was busy with outdoor cafes and buskers. The weekends must be crazy!

On the way back we hopped off the bus at Pacific Shopping Centre to look for some bargains to supplement our wardrobes. Anne bought a scarf for $7. Me - nothing!

Grabbed a couple of bottles of wine to take on the boat then back to the hotel to prepare for the farewll dinner.

Tree top walks and skywalks are so much fun ... if you hang on. They're a braver lot than I (Greg) am, Gunga Din!
